Tone Platinum
I went to a professional colorist today to get my hair bleached and toned platinum. Instead of platinum I now?
have gray hair with a little blonde in it. She said the gray would fade out in a couple of days and it would turn white. I paid $80 for this. Is it true that the toner will fade to white soon? Is there such a thing? I mean this is the reason I went to a professional. Now I look like a granny!!!
i still have a few bondish/reddish SPOTS in my hair. can’t she do something about that? it’s making me crazy everytime i pass a mirror.
Toner DOES fade…
Depending on the porosity of your hair.
Your colorist should have warned your ahead of time that platinum blonde is risky business. Its up there with Strawberry blonde, bother are [nearly] impossible to perfect because everyones hair is going to pull a different undertone.
and platinum in all reality is silver… and silver is grey.. so she’s got the tone right, Id give it a week and it’ll probably be perfect. You’re hair probably just grabed the toner faster than she expected. Not to mention $80 dollars to be bleached and toned isnt a bad price, but you should still get what you want. If in 2 weeks your toner hasnt calmed down schedule a consultation with your colorist again and tell her whats up [nicely]. Since I work behind that chair, I know how color works and I know that a GOOD colorist knows her stuff and she aims to please and if your not happy we’re going to want to make you happy even if it means redoing something. Bring pictures and making yourself clear on what color you want and what you dont want to see [like reds or golds] helps big time.
And I dont suggest using generic products. A colorist doesnt have to stand behind her work if your not using professional shampoos because they dry the hair out and fade the color faster. So John Frieda prodcuts.. thats a no go if you want her to back up her work.
