Is there anything wrong with getting stones on the edge of an engagement ring or wedding band?

Just wondering if there is anything I should consider before seriously considering this type of engagement ring. Would it be uncomfortable or cause any problems in daily wear? Anything else to consider? And, is it okay with the two rings in the set rubbing against each other?
Question: What is the point of diamonds on the “side” if your band is going to sit beside them and cover them up? Maybe I’m misunderstanding the photo, but that’s what I’m seeing. I’d hate to have my sweetheart pay for diamonds no one will see (twice if I understand the shot, once on the e-ring, once on the w-ring).
Are *you* certain you want all the little stones? Dirt will get in there…
The ring is beautiful and it shouldn’t be uncomfortable but go try on one your finger first.
