Carat Diamond
How much approximately would a half carat diamond be worth?
It is an emerald cut, bought about 8 years ago at a cost of about £900. Will take to jewellers to get a valuation, but don’t want to be ripped off!!! I know that other factors are taken into account, but just wanted a rough idea. Thanks
Different valuation will apply if you are selling or insuring.
The mark up on new jewellery can be as high as 380% so it may not be worth as much as you are hoping.
As you say – cut, clarity, colour will all influence the final valuation.
If you are wanting to sell, then get it valued at one jeweller and sell to another!
