2010 HONDA FIT CLUTCH problem. Has anyone heard of a clutch going out in 5000 miles?
I’m an experienced manual transmission driver of 20 years (crx, insight and an accord) but my Honda FIT (DIAMOND HONDA of Glendale) says I needed a NEW clutch so I had one put in. O.K. so now after only 6000 miles on my CIVIC they’re telling me I need new FRONT brakes. Has anyone heard of cheap/shoddy materials from the HONDA Parts line?? I asked this awhile ago and got no answers but maybe now someone has heard something. THANKS …Also Has anyone just heard of Diamond Honda in GLENDALE charging for unnecessary repairs??
YES I am talking about TWO different cars but the common point is the dealer.
A clutch job at 4800 miles done and felt it was MY fault, o.k. but 2000 miles later I had to replace it again. I asked a mechanic friend if he’d heard anything about faulty clutches in Honda Fitts and he said yes, but only in 2009 to 2010. I was wondering if anyone else has heard anything.
That is pretty crappy clutch life. One of the reasons I prefer an automatic. Clutches will eat up all the cost saving.
The FIT is their cheapest model with a lot of Chinese made parts.
On your Civic, you do not need new brakes until you hear them squealing. My daughter’s fiance got a new Canadian made Civic (automatic) a year ago and has 20,000 miles on it. Hasn’t has to replace anything yet though the factory tires are just about worn out.
