Was the ice age caused by early mans carbon footprint?
This always confused me. Why didn’t we learn from their mistake. If their carbon footprint caused the ice age then clearly our activities will have the same effect. We are doomed to repeat history.
There is a great deal of controversy on this subject. Until recently the information in the first link was considered as solid and dependable as the theory of human caused global warming.

Then with extended underwater mapping large cities were discovered on the continental shelves at depths that were flooded 10,000 to 13,000 years ago. And these cities were extensive in size, much larger and more complex than science had attributed to stone or Bronze Age cultures capabilities.

There is another group that targets something called precession of the equinox’s and the 2012 panic is a religious spin off from this astronomical concept. There is another concept that I have never seen expressed in one piece, but I have found pieces of the concept used by several science based authors in stories they have written.

This basic concept says that there are zones in space where various elements are richer or leaner. We already have established that hydrogen exists throughout open space, as do other basic elements. The concept that one major science writer use as a plot basic is that zones that were rich or lean in different elements could cause stars passing through them to have increased activity or low activity. So the possibility is raised that as the stars of the galaxy rotate around the galactic core as the planets of the solar system rotate around the sun, the suns will pass through regions where elements that would increase the suns fuel temporarily and regions that were lean where the star would have to depend on its internal fuel supply.
The more I have studied what we do know the more clear it becomes that we as a civilization know very little as yet about what factors can cause climate change and how much really bad information both sides of the question believe is true.
